About Mini Divers

Mini Divers is Diving WA’s entry-level movement program designed to support physical development and inspire confidence in young children. This program gently introduces diving-related movement skills while allowing kids to explore, have fun and develop socially in a supportive space.

Mini Divers 3–4 years (9:30am–10:15am)

  • Focus on fundamental movement and balance
  • Gentle introduction to diving shapes (tuck, pike, straight)
  • Parent/caregiver involvement is encouraged to support confidence and engagement
  • Fun, highly interactive play-based sessions designed to develop listening and turn-taking

Mini Divers 4–5 years (10:30am–11:15am)

  • Builds on core movement skills with age-appropriate challenges
  • Introduces safe landing patterns, body control and basic diving progressions
  • Encourages increasing independence, teamwork and skill development
  • Parents are welcome to observe or participate if needed

Why Dryland First?

Dryland training allows young children to:

  • Build confidence before entering a pool environment
  • Strengthen core movement skills in a padded, safe setting
  • Develop balance, body awareness and flexibility
  • Progress gradually at a pace that suits their age
  • Feel supported by having a familiar adult nearby

Mini Divers is ideal for children who love to jump, roll, bounce and play – and for families who want to co-explore sporting movement with their children in an encouraging environment.

Safety & Coaching

All Mini Divers sessions are run by qualified Diving WA coaches trained in movement development and child-safe practices. We ensure:

  • Small class sizes for effective supervision
  • Age-appropriate equipment in a controlled space
  • Positive interactions and a nurturing environment
  • A collaborative approach between coaches, children and caregivers
