Diving WA offers a range of fun, engaging and educational programs designed to introduce students to the sport of diving. Whether through the Australian Government’s Sporting Schools initiative, school-based visits, or hands-on workshops at our High Performance Centre, our programs support physical literacy, confidence, and a love of movement.

Sporting Schools – Funded Opportunities for Your School

Sporting Schools is an Australian Government program that helps schools increase children’s participation in sport.

Diving is an approved provider, giving schools the opportunity to access our programs with grant funding support.

Through Sporting Schools, eligible primary schools can book Diving WA coaches to deliver an introduction to diving at your school, free of charge.

School Visits – Bringing Diving to Your Students

Introducing Students to an Olympic Sport

Our School Visit Program brings diving directly to your school through fun, dynamic dryland activities designed to build fundamental movement skills. These sessions give students a safe and engaging introduction to diving without the need for a pool.

Program Overview

• Delivered as a one- or two-day program, depending on class numbers.
• Ideal for Years 2–6, with scope to include other year groups if space allows.
• Each session includes:
  • A short, engaging introduction to the sport of diving
  • A circuit-based rotation featuring skills such as balance, jumping, flexibility, coordination, and body control

Session Details

Each session is:

• 1 hour (up to 35 students per session)
• Delivered by qualified and experienced diving coaches
• Fully self-managed — no teacher involvement required
• Held on-site at your school (hall, gym, undercover area or large classroom)

Program Outcomes

• Students receive a certificate of participation
• Invitation to a Come & Try Diving experience at our training centre
• Schools support physical literacy and movement development
• Students gain confidence and awareness of a unique Olympic sport

Cost

School visits are completely free for participating schools.

HPC Diving Workshops – A Complete Diving Experience

For schools seeking a memorable and immersive activity, Diving WA offers on-site workshops at our High Performance Centre (HPC) in Mt Claremont.

These workshops provide students with a hands-on introduction to diving in a world-class training environment, allowing them to apply their dryland skills to real diving boards under expert guidance.

What’s Included

• A guided tour of the Diving WA training facility
• Supervised practice on:
  • Springboards
  • Platforms (age-appropriate heights)
  • Trampolines and dryland equipment
• Technique instruction focused on fun, safety, confidence and movement foundations
• Delivered byaccredited Diving WA coaches

Workshop Options

We offer a range of visit types including:

• Half-day workshops
• Full-day excursions
• Combined programs (school visit + HPC workshop)
