We acknowledge that during this difficult time, many of our members will be struggling financially, and as a result I am pleased to announce that across Australia, in every State, and in almost every membership category, fees will be significantly reduced for the 20/21 membership year.
We were very pleased to welcome back the first squads into the pool today at HBF Stadium.
As we get closer to welcoming more into the water across the nation, Diving Australia have released their "Return to the Pool" Guidelines.Â
Thanks to the hard work of all Western Australians, the state will be moving to Phase 3 restrictions from Saturday 6th June, as announced by the Premier on Friday. This is fantastic news for the state, but we are still not through this and will continue to take a gradual and measured approach in the interest of safety of all members.
VenuesWest have today announced that HBF Stadium will be re-opening to members only from Wednesday 27th May and bookings are essential. Unfortunately, the works on the dive pool took longer than expected. The pool has now started to be filled and will then require sign off/approval from the Health Department. Expected timeline for the dive pool to potentially be accessible is 1st June.
More than 735,000 West Australians have been stranded on the sideline, waiting for sport to recommence. Recent developments and an inter-sport coalition are now signalling that WA's diverse sporting fraternity have 72 ways to rebuild our communities.
On Sunday, the State Government released further information regarding the easing of restrictions from Monday 18th May.
We are waiting for more information from VenuesWest regarding what this potentially means for the dive pool at HBF Stadium. Once we receive further information, we will update members.
It has been just over a month now since training was suspended due to COVID-19. These have been difficult and trying times and we continue to wish all our members and families well. As always if there is anything the association can do to help please do not hesitate to get in touch.
The 2020 Australian Age Diving Championships was scheduled to start yesterday, but was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID-19.
Diving WA would like to recognise and congratulate those that qualified during the season to compete at the championships.
